Delphi SkyFi XM Embodiment:
This embodiment of the present
invention utilizes a SkyFi unit with an embedded Intel PXA800F cellular
processor with built-in Flash (define) memory for GSM/GPRS
networks As users hear the audio content they
want, they depress a "retrieve" button which sends a
wireless cellular signal to obtain the music or
programming they hear on the satellite radio.
It is preferred that the portable device transmit a timestamp in
addition to the channel identification value and the user identification
value to the processing server.
Once the request is received, the user's subscriber profile dictates
how the processing follows. The audio file may be electronically
delivered to the user's home computer or the service may queue up all the
requests until a customized music CD is generated and distributed to the
subscriber's address.
