This embodiment of the present
invention utilizes a wireless PDA running JAVA applications. A
Blackberry-compatible application server provides local and satellite
radio station information. As users hear the audio content they
want, they execute either: (1) a purchase command; or (2) an information
request from the Blackberry.
It is preferred that the portable device transmit a timestamp in
addition to the channel identification value and the user identification
value to the processing server.
Once either request is received, the user's subscriber profile dictates
how the processing follows. The audio file may be electronically
delivered to the user's home computer or the service may queue up all the
requests until a customized music CD is generated and distributed to the
subscriber's address.
